Whilst in Krakow there are many interesting things to do and places to see. It’s very hard to create a list of just 10 things to do in Krakow. But it’s not impossible and this is what we’re going to try to do in this article. We’ll give you an subjective list of the best 10 things to do in Krakow.
1. Visit the Main Square
Basically a must do in Krakow. The magnificent Main Square of Krakow is one of the most beautiful squares in Europe. It’s brimming with history, stunning views, lots of attractions and great restaurants and bars.
2. Visit Wawel Castle
Another must do whilst you’re here. The astonishing Wawel Castle is a place full of legends and museums. Further more, don’t forget to visit the Dragon’s Den beneath Wawel Hill!
3. Take a stroll around the churches of Krakow
Krakow has more than 130 Catholic churches, some of them with over a 1000 years of history. Beautiful!
4. Visit Schindler’s Factory
When you are here, you really ought to visit one of the branches of the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow. This is where you’ll get to know the story of Oskar Schindler, who saved 1100 Jewish people from Krakow during WWII. Enjoy stunning interiors and magnificent architecture

5. Visit the Jewish Quarter and WWII ghetto in Podgorze
A must do if you are here. So do check out Kazimierz and Podgorze with their interesting histories stretching back to medieval times.
6. Take a walk in one of the parks
As a matter of fact the closest park to the city center is Planty Park which surrounds the Old Town in the place of the former city walls. It’s a beacon of quiet and calmness away from the city bustle. Therefore it’s a great place to walk and enjoy the day. Also it’s where you can meet both locals and tourists arriving in the city.

7. Check out the restaurants in the city
Some people say that there are more than 1000 restaurants in Krakow. Most of them serve both international cuisine and Polish cuisine. As a result, everybody visiting the city can find something they’ll enjoy.
8. Try some Polish cuisine
When you visit the restaurants and bistros in Krakow, be sure to try Polish cuisine. Pierogi, barszcz, kotlet schabowy – these are all tasty Polish specialties. Above all, you’ll probably be surprised just how big the portions are!
9. Eat a zapiekanka
Of the 10 things to do in Krakow this is certainly another must do item. Incidentally the best ones can be found at Plac Nowy in the Jewish Quarter. Ah yes, what is a zapiekanka? It’s a toasted baguette, a Polish specialty. So, essentially, a baguette with mushroom, cheese and different toppings with sauces – cheap and yummy. You won’t regret tasting it!

10. Go for a drink in one of the bars
There are so many bars in Krakow worth checking out that a list of them would make another article. You can find a great many in the Old Town and the Jewish Quarter. Also, while you’re there, be sure to try the flavored vodkas that almost each place serves. You’ll be positively surprised by some of the exotic sounding flavors!
